Say goodbye to routine fingersticks* and hello to actionable insights.

Lady scanning FreeStyle Libre sensor

With the FreeStyle Libre system you wear a small sensor on the back of your upper arm that automatically monitors your glucose day and night.

Instead of routine fingersticks,* simply swipe the reader over the sensor for a painless,1 one-second scan. Each scan provides a current glucose reading, a trend arrow, and an 8-hour history.

* Fingersticks are required for treatment decisions when you see Check Blood Glucose symbol, when symptoms do not match system readings, when you suspect readings may be inaccurate, or when you experience symptoms that may be due to high or low blood glucose.

Are glucose readings different between CGM and BGM?

Instead of taking glucose readings from your blood, CGM sensor glucose readings are taken from the interstitial fluid (ISF), a thin layer of fluid that surrounds the cells of the tissues below your skin. Blood glucose readings tend to be about 5 to 10 minutes ahead of interstitial glucose readings. For most treatment decisions, sensor readings from the FreeStyle Libre system can replace fingerstick readings.*
